Movie Ironhide line art.
I tried drawing this guy three times. The first was just a sketch to get the pose but I didn't like it. Too stiff. The second got all the way to the inks before I seriously hugged up the inks and realized the pose was also too stiff. Great technical detail but it just wasn't dynamic. Looked too much like a pile of junk (not like that particular style doesn't fit an old clunker like Ironhide - hence the reason the ILM guys designed him that way). I just didn't feel like it was working. So, we come to this. Great sketch. Very dynamic. I loved the pose (I'm sure I've seen it before so I won't take credit for it since it's probably subliminally based on something else) and the finished lines are coming in great. Then I screw up the waste. BIG TIME. I almost wasn't able to correct it but, in the end, a little ink and some photoshop goes a long way. So here it is. Number 4 in the movie series. Ironhide. Colors forthcoming whenever I feel like it before July 4th. |

This is fantastic, as always! The time and dedication you put into making your bots as accurate as possible is awesome. His face, especially, is tremendously detailed 0_0.
Something about his upper thighs bugs me though - I think those round-ish things near his 'groin' look too big
Unfortunately, I inked over the pencils to preserve the lines. The paper was getting really damaged from the mistakes so it was the only way to keep from losing the illustration. So I don't have the pencils for this one, sadly. I don't think I have them from Frenzy either. I'll see about Jazz when I get around to drawing him but there are no guarantees.
